Leeds Tiger Tiger refurbishment makes it a perfect party spot for a Leeds hen do!

We’re always excited when a venue gets a refurb – and Tiger Tiger’s new-look all-in-one bar really makes it a perfect place to party on a Leeds hen do or stag weekend.

Our favourite addition to Tiger Tiger in Leeds is the Kanaloa room - an area of tropical paradise with bamboo beach-hut style decor and Hawaiin Lei flowers. Tiki lounge bars have become increasingly popular in recent years and the flaming cocktails and rum cocktails are always a great experience for any Leeds stag party or hen night! The Kanaloa room is now one of the liveliest bars in Tiger Tiger and so this is the room to head to if you want party-central. But don’t worry – for those who do need a break in-between all the dancing, you can really feel like you are on holiday with the waitress service available with bar packages!

At the other end of the scale is the new Jewel bar. The resident DJ plays all the best funky-house but set within a bar of sumptuous decor and rustic Parisian-style charm. This bar is sure to impress those on a Leeds hen night on the style front! So if you’re part of a Leeds stag party, why not follow where the stylish hens head and treat yourself to the booth packages available, with a choice of shots, cocktails and champagne?!

Tiger Tiger in Leeds has now upped the ante and can now offer the VIP experience to stag and hen parties in Leeds with the private Champagne room area. With wall-to-wall cream leather sofas, it’s an option for those who want to feel like A-listers.

And of course, downstairs in Tiger Tiger Leeds there’s still the Groovy Wonderland that offers 60s, 70s and 80s and the White Room which offers an Ibiza-esque clubbing experience. Let’s not forget Lucky Voice either – the ultimate karaoke party!

There’s a reason that Tiger Tiger remains a popular destination for stag and hen weekends in Leeds – with plenty of choice, you can always keep your group happy. But we think they’ve really shaken it up a notch with their new additions, which make it a great choice for a Leeds stag party or hen do.

Hen weekends in Manchester shopping guide – you may as well!

Be honest – did the Northern capital’s reputation for having some of the best shopping outside of London factor into your planning for the hen party?! Manchester is not just renowned for its lively music scene but also its wealth of shopping experience s. We don’t just know how to paaarty (think Frank from Shameless there) – we also know how to shop! What better way to spend those final few hours on a Sunday or the early Friday afternoon before everyone arrives with a quick bit of retail therapy? We take you on a tour of Manchester’s shopping areas...

Afflecks Palace and The Northern Quarter

Just north of the city centre high street is the Northern Quarter area. Manchester is known for its independent music and fashion scene and the Northern Quarter will not disappoint. Afflecks Palace is a must-see place here, with an array of independent (and affordable) fashion shops, a haberdashery of all-sorts for those creative types, fancy dress and art stores. It’s really got a little bit for everyone and you never know what you may stumble across in there. The Northern Quarter in general is similarly made up of lots of independent stores, with plenty of cafes and bars to pop into to refresh!

Best for: Independent finds that will make your friends jealous back home!

Market Street and The Arndale Centre

Market Street is the city centre high-street as the name would suggest. Along here you’ll find Boots, Mango, Urban Outfitters, All Saints, Miss Selfridge, H&M and – most importantly – a very large Primarni! So if you’ve laddered your last pair of tights or need some more make-up and toiletries for your night out , this is your place.

The Arndale Centre is situated just off Market Street. Don’t let the remainder eyesore  tall tower put you off – inside you’ll find a wealth of shops like you would normally find in any good shopping mall – including a very large Topshop, River Island, Oasis, Warehouse and Dorothy Perkins.

Best for: your normal high street finds (but bigger and better  - as it’s Manchester!)

St Mary’s Gate, St Anne’s Square and Cathedral Approach

As you cross a small road where Boots finishes, you’ll head onto St Mary’s Gate, where you’ll find a large Marks and Spencer’s and, directly behind it, Selfridges.

If you head back onto St Mary’s Gate and head on down, on the left hand corner you’ll find St Anne’s Square, home to Zara, Office and Russell and Bromley, and on the opposite side of the road are Zara, Reiss and Ted Baker.

Best for: high-end high street

Deansgate

If you head back through St Anne’s Square and take a right, you’ll find yourself directly opposite House of Fraser. Enough said – the perfect end or start to any hen weekends in Manchester as it often has unbelievable sales and with lots of good quality stock!! We could rummage in there for hours, regardless of sales....

Best for: high street fashion all under one roof, often at bargain prices throughout the year

Kings Street  and Spinningfields

Just around the back of House of Fraser on the bottom of Kings Street opposite the restaurant, San Carlo’s, is a little-known must see called Elite Dress Agency.  If you like a good rummage for designer gear forget TK Maxx  - this is real designer clearance and returns – from All Saint to Vivienne Westwood and Karen Millen.

And if you head to the top half of the street you’ll find the likes of Karen Millen, Whistles, Mulberry and The Kooples.

Spinningfields is the Canary Wharf of Manchester and as a business distract home to lots of law firms, banks and the like, the shops are well suited. Head here for Ted Baker, Armani, LK Bennet, Kurt Geiger, Calvin Klein, Flannels and Mulberry.

Best for: those with a serious budget (oh, lucky ones!)

Fancy dress

Don’t despair if you forgot to pack any fancy dress for your hen party. Manchester’s Arndale Centre is home to Luvyababes on the ground floor near to the exit from Boots. With an array of all things fancy dress, there is plenty of options. And Affleck’s Palace is always an option too – they have many a fancy dress outfit in different stores.

The Trafford Centre

Now, we know The Trafford Centre is renowned, but personally, we feel like you may as well stick to the city centre – you've got everything all in close proximity and that's what hen weekends in Manchester are all about - getting a feel of the city.

So what are you waiting for – a buzzing music scene and great shopping all under one roof. If you've not booked yet, then check out our build your own hen weekend in Manchester package!

Newly revamped Revolution on Deansgate Locks makes it the perfect place to party on your stag or hen weekend in Manchester

Revolution Deansgate Locks officially re-opened on Saturday 15 June 2013 after undergoing a six-figure re-vamp and we’re sure the extended vodka-based cocktail menu, new look and music direction will be a welcome addition to any hen party or stag night in Manchester. The bar treated guests to a drinks reception, canapés, entertainment and DJs and some people were even invited to try their very own Manchester cocktail masterclass behind the bar!

Manchester based live bands will be playing every Friday and there will now be guest DJs added to the mix along with a new Funktion One sound system, dubbed by many as the greatest sound-system on the planet - one for the stag parties! Manchester’s Deansgate Revolution has really taken it up a notch and there will be plenty of choice to keep all of your group entertained, which is a common requirement when there are so many people to consider.

If it happens to be sunny on your Manchester hen party or stag do, then check out our guide to the best beer gardens in Manchester

It’s not that often that the sun really shines in Manchester, but if you’re lucky enough to be blessed with sun on your hen or stag weekend, you’ll certainly want to catch a glass of wine or a beer in the sun inbetween your activities! We’ve cherry-picked some of our favourite Manchester city centre beer gardens so you’re not stuck.

  1. Dukes 92

Dukes 92 is the place to be when the sun is shining and it’s easy to see why. A beautiful setting in the historic part of Castlefield, the bar is situated right next to the Bridgewater canal and overlooks the Castlefield basin.

The food is second to none for bar and pub food (and they have just won an award). You can order delicious large pizza sharing boards that easily feed up to 4 so they’re perfect for hen and stag parties. And their chicken wing buckets are delicious and perfect for sharing.

With plenty of outside seating, the bar can hold larger groups and is therefore perfect for a stag or hen party. Manchester celebrities have also been spotted in this popular haunt.

  1. Epernay champagne bar

If you’re after a classy bar with an ambient and sophisticated decor, then Epernay offers all this along with comfy seating on an outside terrace. The terrace area is not particularly large and so it may be more suited to smaller groups on a classy hen party. Manchester really does have a best kept secret in this bar, as their website suggests.

  1. RBG cocktail bar

Set on the edge of the bohemian Northern Quarter and The Green Quarter, RBG cocktail bar offers a touch of class with the summer sun. It’s right next to the MEN arena and so it’s perfectly suited to those who are planning to include a music or comedy gig as part of their hen or stag party weekend in Manchester. With a sun-trap terrace and stylish cocktails and draught beers on offer, this bar is a lovely place to top up your tan.

  1. Black Dog Ballroom NWS

This bar offers an eclectic mix of furniture with pool tables galore and a large rooftop terrace. Enjoy a stag pool tournament and beer in the sun - the perfect start before your stag night. Manchester Oxford Road Station is also close by and so it is an ideal first meeting point.

  1. Deansgate Locks

Along the locks, you’ll find plenty of bars where there are small drinking areas outside overlooking the canal. From Vodka Revolution to Baa Bar and Sakura, there’s something for everyone here. This area is also a really popular night-life area for stag and hen parties in Manchester so you can check out the area before your night out if you wish!

  1. Sinclair’s Oyster Bar

Sinclair’s Oyster Bar is set in the heart of Manchester City Centre, just behind Selfridges and boasts a large seating area outside. The building is one of the oldest in Manchester and you’ll find one of the cheapest prices for beers in the city centre here! It offers a wide range of traditional beers, ales and spirits and a typically English food menu. This is certainly one to be checked out by Stag Parties! Manchester bars do not get much more authentic that than this.

So enjoy some of the best beer gardens in Manchester and if you’ve felt the need to read this, then you can sit back smugly in the knowledge that you’ve arranged your hen or stag do in Manchester on one of the few weekends it really shines!
